Total Impressions is Welcoming in the New Year with a New Website

Hello Everyone,
Total Impressions would like to take this time to thank you for visiting our new website. We hope you find it informative as we strive to bring the assets of the Ad Specialty industry to you.
A little history about the industry, is that when we first started back in 2002, the industry of 3500 suppliers made avail to us their catalog, some mailings of product and specials announcements and black and white fax alerts. Then the internet came along and with it, e-mails. A trickle at first, but as the web and related technologies and services grew, so did the e-mails... in abundance from the now 4100 suppliers and counting that comprise the industry. These e-mails are quicker and more efficient than the announcements of old received in the mailbox from the post office. They are more artistically colorful and very eye catching then the stale, boring, black and white fax alerts we used to receive. Finally, did we mention they arrive in great abundance?
So much so that we decided against a Newsletter, but rather, to use the assets of the web by taking advantage of Posterous to use their blogging capabilities, as well as the Social Networks of Twitter and Facebook to help get the word out. Internally, our website has a small blog of its own and we are also pleased to introduce ‘Cashcal’. Cashcal is your calendar of monthly savings. Only product announcements that are on sale will be found within and the listings will be color coded in red, blue and green for quick reference on whether the special is for a short blast or good for some time or good until the end of the year respectively. While you cannot sign up for a Newsletter, you can join a mailing list to receive an e-mail every now and then of a catchy, colorful, informative flier posting and reminder to come back and visit to see all that is new.
Because ‘New’ is our goal. ‘Fresh Content’ is our commitment to you. Not just recycled news of a highlighted product or two from a limited inventory selection as some in the industry may have because of their limitations, but news of highlighted products from around the whole industry, and when we put a post in our blog here or on the web, or send a ‘tweet’ from Twitter or a ‘note’ to our Facebook Wall, it will not be the same found in all places. We strive for uniqueness of product announcements so you will have to visit all to see all!
A brief explanation of our internal web blog that may assist you in your search for the perfect promotional item. You will notice the blog itself lists only one “highlighted” item on its page. However, if you look off to the side, you will see a listing of categories the various posts will fall under. Clicking on a certain Category will bring up all the listings found within. Also, at the bottom of the post is a Tag to further refine the posting and help you hone your results when searching.
So as the industry advances with the use of the latest technology, we will be here to pass along that asset to you. We promise to keep you informed of the great products we sell on behalf of the Ad Specialty industry and to always keep in mind our goal which is to help aid you in branding your business and marketing your products and services.
Speaking of industry advances, we would also like to introduce you to a new section of our website we call ‘Portfolio’. There are services related to the industry that have created web databases that are maintained by the product suppliers themselves. This way the product should be current in availability and pricing. You will find a couple of those databased websites in our ‘Portfolio’ section. The only problem some suppliers have with this is that their products are minimized by the listings of other manufacturers similar products. To avoid their products becoming bland by the multitude of various supplier offerings, some suppliers have resorted to creating a non branded, custom website of just their offerings that allow brokers such as our self to utilize. This way, the supplier’s products will be the only products being shown for your consideration. It is relatively new so it is limited in content, but we feel this is something, especially the major suppliers in the industry will be taking advantage of if they have not already. The smaller industries that may have limited resources to be able to offer similar capabilities, Total Impressions may have something in store for them in the future as well.
