PROPOSITION 65: Also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, California Proposition 65 is a law that requires warning to consumers if a product exposes consumers to a wide variety of chemicals including lead and cadmium. Prop 65 does not ban any product; it simply requires warnings. Prop 65 applies only in California, and covers all products distributed in the state. The State of California requires significantly stricter standards be met.
